Smarter, Sleeker, and More Sustainable: Rapid’s New Packaging
At Rapid, we believe great design doesn’t end with the product itself – it extends to everything that surrounds it. That’s why we’re introducing a new generation of packaging that’s smarter, more user-friendly, and more sustainable.
Over the coming years (2025–2026), all Rapid products will transition from plastic-based packaging to responsibly sourced, FSC®-certified cardboard. It’s a big shift – and one we’re proud of – as part of our ongoing journey to reduce environmental impact.
From Plastic to Paper – Making a Real Difference
Plastic packaging often ends up as waste after a single use. By replacing it with recyclable cardboard made from responsibly managed forests, Rapid is cutting down on unnecessary plastic and helping customers make more sustainable choices. The material protects the product just as effectively, while giving it a fresh, modern look.
Designed for Smarter Logistics
We’ve also rethought how our packaging travels. Every box has been carefully resized to reduce empty space, which means:
- Less air during transport – more efficient shipping and fewer emissions.
- Less waste – packaging that fits the product perfectly.
- Better use of shelf space – easier for retailers and customers to find what they need.
This new design helps us aligns with the upcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which aims to tackle over-packaging and boost recycling across Europe.
Clear, Functional, and Inspiring by Design
The environmental improvements go hand in hand with a new visual identity. Each package features:
- Clean, modern product images that make selection effortless.
- Informative icons and clear labeling to guide you at a glance.
- QR codes that take you directly to detailed product pages for videos, guides, and specifications.
The result? A packaging experience that’s as intuitive as it is sustainable—helping you find the right product faster and with confidence. Our new look has already been recognized externally, earning a nomination for the Svenska Designpriset, a national award celebrating outstanding Swedish design and communication.
A Step Toward the Packaging of the Future
“We’re taking an important step towards the packaging of the future, where functionality, sustainability, and design work together,” says Ulrik Frii, Director of Marketing at Rapid. “We want our products to feel inspiring even before they’re opened. By choosing sustainable materials and reducing plastic use, we’re shaping a more conscious and resource-efficient future.”
